Coach Jan is simply known as "Mr. Tennis" in the City of Sunnyvale because he has taught thousands of students over his illustrious 38 year career. He has coached many champions including Brian Garrow, who reached the Top 90 in the world. He is certified through the USPTA at the P-1 level, its highest credential. He was the Head Pro at the Cupertino Hills Racquet Club and was Director of Tennis for both Campbell and Cupertino before he became the first operator of the Sunnyvale Municipal Tennis Center in 1976. He retired in 2004, but has continued to teach tennis at the SMTC to his loyal students. He emerged from retirement to ensure that the legacy he began continues for the next generation of tennis players.

The "Hardest Working Coach in the Silicon Valley," Coach Rick has taught over 15,000 students during his 36 year tennis career at SMTC. Before coming to Las Palmas,Rich taught at the Chuck Thomason Swim and Tennis School. He also coached numerous tennis teams including: the Sunnyvale Middle School team for 3 years, bring them from last place to 2nd; the Jr. Davis Cup for 10 years; and the Fremont High School Boys and Girls Teams for 12 years, taking them from dead last to League Champions, and also bring them to CCS 4 times. As for his own tennis career, he was ranked 15th in the Nation in NCAA Division III while at De Anza College; during that time he competed with Larry Stefanki, Andy Roddick's coach. Coach Glory has taught over 1,000 4-15 year old and Juniors over 20 years through the Sunnyvale Parks& Recreation programs. She has a tremendous love for the sport and her 'kids'--who are all fiercely loyal to her--call her 'Mom.' She is an ACE Certified Group Low Impact Aerobic, Step Aerobics, and Strength Training Instructor in the corporate world for 20 years before becoming a tennis coach.She is also on the Board of Directors of the Sunnyvale Tennis Club, serving as Membership Director. Glory has been active with USTA Leagues for over 30 years and has been Captain or Co-Captain for 12 years. She volunteered at the USTA Districts and Sectionals, and also the Men's and Women's Challenger Tournaments in the South Bay. She has been a Sunnyvale resident for over 36 years.
